The Friends of Tomoka Basin State Parks was formed to support five Florida State Parks - Addison Blockhouse Historic State Park, Bulow Creek State Park, Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, Haw Creek Preserve State Park and Tomoka State Park.
Addison Blockhouse Historic State ParkThe Addison Blockhouse, a small picturesque coquina rock ruin, is location on what was once an 18th century plantation built by John Moultrie. Later, John Addison, then Duncan McRae, owned and worked the land growing cotton and sugar cane until it was burned in the Second Seminole War. The park can be accessed by boat, kayak or canoe only. |
Bulow Creek State Park3351 Old Dixie Highway Ormond Beach, Florida 32174 Containing one of the largest remaining stands of Southern Live Oak forest along Florida’s East Coast, Bulow Creek State Park protects nearly 5,600 acres of land. Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park3501 Old Kings Road Flagler Beach, Florida 32136 The 150 acres of Bulow Plantation Ruins stand as a monument to the rise and fall of sugar plantations in East Florida. The park offers hiking, fishing, paddling, and picnicking. The park is open Thursday through Monday, from 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. The park is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Haw Creek Preserve State ParkHaw Creek Preserve State Park offers a serene paddle way on a pristine blackwater creek through an old Florida cypress swamp that leads to Crescent Lake. The park can be accessed by launching at the Flagler County public boat ramp at Russell Landing. The park can be accessed by boat, kayak or canoe only. |
Tomoka State Park2099 N. Beach Street Ormond Beach, Florida 32174 Native Americans once dwelled here, living off fish-filled lagoons. Today the park’s waters are popular for paddling, boating and fishing. In addition, the park offers hiking, picnicking and camping.
